Read:
“I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” John 8:58

Study:
Who is Jesus? That’s the question we all have to answer at some point in our life. If you ever get in any theological debate, if you live in the Bible belt, and if you have ever experienced a loss, this question will come up. In an effort to be on your “A” game, you need to know the answer.

The answer is this, Jesus is God. So what does that mean for you? It means that there is nothing on this earth that you will ever go through that Jesus hasn’t dealt with and conquered. Dealing with rejection and suffering? Isaiah 53:3 says that Jesus was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Being tempted to do something you know you shouldn’t? Matthew 4:8 says that Jesus was tempted with having authority over the whole earth. No family? Matthew 12:50 says that his family and our family should be whoever does the will of God.

Here’s the point. Jesus is the One we can trust and count on. Jesus is the One who speaks truth. Jesus is the One who brings joy. Jesus is the One who has felt our pain. Jesus is the One who stands with us when everybody else is against us. Jesus is the One sitting at the right hand of God reminding God that even though we continue to do stupid things and not trust Him, He paid our debt so we can be with Him for eternity.

To be blunt, Jesus is “the way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through Me (Jesus)” (John 14:6). So, who is Jesus? Jesus is God.

Pray:
God so often I see you as my homeboy and not as the One who makes it possible for me to hope, love, and dream. Forgive me for my stupid actions. Draw me closer to you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Live:
Who is Jesus to you today? Right down on a sheet of paper your answer. Carry it with you, and give it to someone.
